Interpretation

The college means Carshalton College. The Centre means Pulse Health and Fitness Carshalton and the Appointed Leisure Management Partner means Pulse Fitness Ltd.

The Manager means the Manager in post at the centre and includes any personnel from the Appointed Leisure Management Partner authorised by the college to perform the duties of that particular post.

User means any person using the centre or its facilities whether any charge has been paid and includes spectators.

Questions arising as to the interpretation of these rules shall be determined by the Manager whose decision shall be final.

We will not tolerate any abuse of staff by any member of the public whether a paid-up member or casual pay as you go user. Any abusive language or physical assault will result in the police being informed and CCTV footage will be used to identify and used as evidence.

CCTV coverage is recording throughout the internal and external areas of the leisure centre.

Day Pass

A day pass gives you unlimited access to the facility . A day pass is a good idea if you’re visiting for the day, if you want a friend to join you along the way, or if you’re curious to see what it’s like to use our facility. Please note a day pass is only permitted for up to 24hrs from time of purchase. You must abide by all rules, failure to abide by the rules your day pass will be terminated.

Promotional offer

Following this promotional period, the membership fees will be frozen at this price until you are notified otherwise. If you fail a payment , freeze, or cancel your membership and wish to join again you will revert to paying the current full standard prices

Membership offer’s will be offered from time to time and will be subject to additional terms and conditions.

All customers redeeming the offer are bound by the membership terms and conditions.

All customers redeeming the offer will be required to complete a health questionnaire, medical assessment and participate in a fitness suite induction.

Management, the College, and the Appointed Leisure Management partner has the final decision in all matters relating to this offer and their decision is final and binding.

Management has the right to remove, amend or extend this offer at any time.

No refunds are available once contracts have been signed.

Membership offers 2023

2021 direct debit discounted membership offer will remain valid unless you cancel, freeze, or miss direct debit payments. If any of those three apply, then we have the right that your membership reverts to the normal monthly applicable fee amount. There is no cash alternative to this offer.

The April/May 2023 promotion of a discount rate per month will remain for the duration of your valid membership. If you freeze, cancel your direct debit, or cancel your membership, this offer will become invalid, and you will have to take out a new membership at the current prevailing rate.

All members must shower before using the sauna and steam room.

All household add Ons must run current with the main holder and cannot be back dated or altered, all memberships will expire on the same date as main member regardless of joining date.

Admission and fees

Those admitted to the centre are only admitted on the basis they will observe these rules. There is no re-admission without the required payment. All fees must be paid prior to commencing use of the facility.

All persons entering the centre must purchase the appropriate ticket or produce a current and active membership card.
Customers eligible for a concessionary rate must show relevant supporting evidence when required, particularly college staff and students.

All tickets including membership cards must be retained, produced, or surrendered by the Manager or Duty Manager on demand.
Any complimentary tickets issued by the Centre, are issued without prejudice and the issue of such tickets does not represent an admission of liability.

The Appointed Leisure Management Partner reserves the right to refuse admission or to remove from the centre any user without stating any reason therefore and a user shall at any time comply with all reasonable instructions and requests of the manager to carry out and observe all instructions relating to the use of the centre and conduct therein which may from time to time be published by notice on the premises or otherwise.

All members must always use their own membership card within the centre and swipe it to validate their visit/participation in each activity.

It is a member’s responsibility to keep safe their personal membership card, should it be lost, stolen or misplaced the member must purchase a replacement from the main reception at a fee of £5. No member will be allowed admittance into the centre without a valid membership card. Wristband replacement is also £6 to replace.

Membership

Your membership is only valid at Pulse Health and Fitness Carshalton.

Your membership commences from date of purchase, you are responsible for contacting the centre to arrange your induction.

We have the right to refuse your application for membership.

If we cease to work the centre due to its sale or transfer, your Membership of the centre will (unless otherwise notified to you) continue to be valid.

Please inform the centre in writing of any changes in your name, address, telephone number, email address. We may terminate your

Membership in the following situations and with the following notice periods:

Freezing of Gym Membership

If you are unable to use the Centre facilities for any reason you may suspend your Membership. You must however have completed three full months as a member to qualify for suspension. You may suspend for a minimum of one month to a maximum of three months within any period of 12 consecutive months. 2 weeks’ notice prior to your next direct debit date is required. You are limited to a maximum of 3 months freeze in total in any 12-month period. The cost is £5 per month.

Freezing memberships is only available to individuals on a direct debit membership and cannot be used on cash memberships.

Health and Safety

If accompanying a child under the age of 8 into a changing room the correct changing room appropriate to the gender of the parent must be used. All children over the age of 8 must use the changing room appropriate to their own gender.

All management on duty are responsible are responsible for the safety of bathers and their instructions must be always followed for staff and users’ safety.

At all times children less than 8 years of age must be accompanied into the building and into the water by a responsible adult. Constant contact and control must be always maintained. For paramount safety one adult must supervise no more than two children less than 8 years of age and children under 4 years of age require one to one supervision. Babies must always wear recognised swimmer nappies when in the pool.

The pools are for the enjoyment of all bathers, including families and children. Please do not indulge in horseplay, which can be upsetting to others and dangerous.

Please refer and familiarise yourself with all poolside notices including the depth of the pool. The use of flippers and masks is not permitted. No ball games are allowed in the pool. Only Centre approved equipment will be allowed in the pool at any time.

In the interests of hygiene proper swimwear must be worn in the pool.

All jewellery must be removed prior to entering the pool and where possible long hair should be tied back and a swimming cap worn.

All swimmers must shower before entering the pool. Please take care when entering the pool and do not run and jump in. It is advised to use the steps and safety handrail to enter and exit the pool.

The sauna and steam room are restricted to 16 years and above and no children under this age will be allowed entry. Any children and or parents in the presence of their children will be asked to leave.

All personal property is a user’s responsibility and must be safely stored and locked in the lockers provided. Strictly no personal property is allowed unattended in changing rooms or poolside.

Strictly no photography within the building at any time.

In the event of a fire, the fire alarm will be activated which is a continuous alarm noise If activated during a swimming lesson please do not come onto poolside to fetch your child. The pupils will exit the pool under the control of the teachers and centre staff and line up at the emergency exits. Parents are requested to exit the building via the nearest emergency exit.

The management reserves the right to hold practice alarm drills from time to time to test the procedure for clearing the Centre in case of emergency.

Parents may spectate during swimming lessons from the assigned viewing area only and not poolside.

It is parent’s responsibility to ensure their child adheres to all rules of the facility and abide the instruction given to their child whilst within the centre. Children must not run along poolside and must sit still and quiet in anticipation for their swimming lesson to commence. Children who display disruptive tendencies anywhere with the centre may be asked to leave by management and no refund will be given.

All accidents must be reported to the manager immediately and an accident form completed.

If your circumstances change at any time; that may inadvertently affect your safety when using the facilities, please let a member of staff know immediately.

For your safety some facilities and activities within the centre operate age restrictions.

Facilities and services

The Appointed Leisure Management Partner reserves the right to alter, amend or cancel admission charges, availability of facilities, access to facilities, timing of activities and classes at any time and without notice.

All users are requested to vacate all facilities when a period for which they booked has expired as they may delay other users who have paid for the next booking.

All users must respect all equipment, facilities, furniture, fittings, apparatus and always building infrastructure. A user shall pay to the Centre on demand the cost of any damage caused. The Manager’s decision is final.

Users should observe single sex change and toilet facilities always using this appropriate to their gender.

Disabled facilities have been provided for strict use only by the disabled user and their career and family.

Sports Hall

We have a four-court sports hall available for hire. Timings will become available from reception.

Fitness suite

Only adults aged 16 years or over are permitted to use the gym.

All gym users must complete a medical questionnaire and participate in an induction with one of our fitness instructors prior to using/visiting the gym.

Equipment will only work with a valid membership Card.

Please wipe down the kit after use with the tissue provided by the site. Please ensure all equipment is returned safely to its original location.

We respectfully ask users to wear clean sports kit and appropriate footwear; please refrain from using outdoor footwear in the gym.

Users are advised to alert gym staff if they have any medical conditions that may affect your ability to exercise or if your health changes throughout your membership at the Centre.

Classes

Users/members of classes must wait outside the studio/hall until invited in by the instructor and be available 5 minutes before the class commences. Once the class has started there will be no further admission.

All classes must be pre-booked via our online booking system and or via the main reception kiosk or reception.

We aim to provide a balanced and varied programme of classes each week subject to availability and viability. Please note classes may be cancelled or suspended without notice at Management’s discretion.

Class booking no shows may result in a 10 day ban due to high demand in use.

Bookings

All booking applications for hire must be complete and return signed paperwork to the Manager. When the hirer is not an individual, the person who signs the form should be duly authorised to act for the hirer and must be strictly over the age of 18 years.

A booking is confirmed when the confirmation is processed by the centre and a receipt is issued to the hirer.

All payments associated to a booking must be paid in full at the time of booking unless agreed in writing by management.

Under no circumstances will a booking be refunded once a booking is confirmed.

Staff at the Centre is responsible for the setting up and arrangement of all equipment, furniture, and apparatus as part of a booking. Users/Hirers are not to touch, play, dismantle or move equipment without the permission of the manager.

Hirers are requested to vacate the booked facility at the agreed time. An activity that exceeds this contractual period will be liable to excess charges at a premium rate.

All hirers on demand must pay for any damages or cost of repair arising out of or incidental to the hiring.

The hirer is responsible for the supervision of all attendees unless part of an organised centre activity.

All bookings are non-transferable.

No hirer can sublet or make available any part of the facility to a third party.

Management will advise on the maximum capacity for all bookings, thus must be strictly adhered to.

The hirer must strictly adhere to and familiarise themselves with the Centre’s fire policy and health and safety rules.

General

For your security, we have a padlock system in place.

All users must respect each other when using the facilities foul and abusive language and anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated. Users who disregard the above and affect the centre’s enjoyment by others will be removed from the centre immediately.

We offer lockers facilities for all belongings to be left during a members visit to our gym; we do not allow any bags to be left or carried on to the gym floor or pool side to avoid any hazards.

The public address system cannot be used for personal calls at any time.

Users wishing to make a complaint or a useful suggestion to the operational best practice of the centre must complete a customer feedback form located at the main reception. All formal complaints must be made directly to the Manager in writing.

Photographs for personal or professional use and publication thereof must not be taken without the prior written consent of the manager; the only exception to this rule is the booking of exclusive parties and functions.

Users are not permitted to bring their own refreshments into the Centre unless pre-agreed by the Manager or agreed in writing as part of an exclusive party or function booking. Strictly no refreshments to be taken onto poolside or in the changing areas.

The Manager reserves the right to dispose of any item of non-valuable lost property not claimed after two weeks. Valuable lost property will be disposed of after 1 month.

Appropriate clothing must be always worn, relating to the activity/facility you are participating in.

No user shall reward a teacher, instructor, or staff member personally without prior consent of the Manager.

The centre has a strict no smoking policy.

No animals are allowed in the Centre apart from dogs assisting the disabled.

We reserve the right to refuse admission or ask you to leave the Centre if we reasonably believe you or your guest is in breach of any section of these rules.

All members and staff are required to wear a face mask. No face mask can result to refused entry.

The decision of the Manager on every occasion is final.

Not complying with our rules can lead to termination of your membership.
